The Royal Oak Inn
About 10 miles away at Luxborough is The Royal Oak Inn which featured in the Daily Telegraph newspaper as Alastair Sawday's personal favourite pub out of 50 great pubs in England and Wales (May 3rd 2008). There is no background music, no fruit machines and no pool table, although they do have a dart board and a quiz league. The head chef, specialises in fish from Cornwall and game shot locally. There are tables set aside for people who want to spend the whole evening dining in an unhurried way. The beer and ciders are local too - TA23 0SH. Tel: 01984 640319Stags Head Inn
This picture shows the Stags Head Inn which is the oldest pub in Dunster about 7 miles away. The Inn serves three real ales and traditional cider. It was featured in the Good Pub Guide 2008 and serves delicious food - TA24 6SN. Tel 01643 821229.The Rising Sun Inn
The Rising Sun at West Bagborough is a traditional inn about 8.5 miles from our house, serving real ales and the finest food, set in the picturesque Quantock Hills of Somerset. We have received very good reviews recently about this restaurant and their opening times are 6 - 9.30pm for food during weekdays and 7 - 8.30pm Sundays, also open for lunch each day.
